Kenitra–Marrakech High-Speed Rail Line: ONCF commits MAD 300 million for 53 metallic footbridges
The services notably include design and execution studies, preparatory works and site installations, the manufacture and installation of metal structures, as well as associated civil engineering works and engineering structures.
The National Railways Office (ONCF) has launched a new project as part of the programme to extend the high-speed rail line to Marrakech. This concerns a contract covering the studies and construction of metallic pedestrian footbridges over railway tracks, with an overall budget of 300 million dirhams (MAD).
Divided into three lots, the contract involves the construction of 53 metallic footbridges: 16 along the Casablanca–Sidi Ichou axis, 17 on the Sidi Ichou–Fès section, and 20 between Nouaceur and Marrakech. The first two lots are valued at 96 million dirhams each, while the third amounts to 108 million dirhams.
The scope of services includes design and execution studies, preparatory works and site installations, the manufacture and installation of metal structures, as well as associated civil engineering works and structures. It also covers testing, commissioning and acceptance operations, together with interventions in an operational railway environment, subject to constraints linked to tracks, overhead lines, and safety requirements.
The works are to be carried out over a period of two years for each of the three lots. This timeframe includes a preparatory phase of three months dedicated to additional surveys, detailed execution studies, equipment procurement, and site preparation, prior to the commencement of construction works proper.
The contract also provides for an intermediate contractual timeframe of five months per footbridge, starting from the specific service order issued for each structure. The works may be carried out simultaneously or successively on several footbridges, depending on the phasing determined by the ONCF.
