The Casablanca stock market was marked this Monday, April 6, by the historic launch of the financial derivatives market, with the first trading of the firm futures contract on the MASI 20 index, called “MASI 20 Future,” marking a major milestone in the maturity of the Kingdom’s capital markets.

At the same time as this launch, Bank Al-Maghrib and the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC) announced the launch of the institutional website of the Futures Market Coordination Authority (ICMAT).

Designed as a central reference information platform, the ICMAT portal is part of a strategy to support derivatives market participants. It aims to provide comprehensive, structured, and accessible information to all stakeholders and the general public.

As a reminder, this body, established by Law 42-12 relating to the financial derivatives market, ensures coordination between Bank Al-Maghrib and the AMMC in jointly supervising the derivatives market.

Accessible via www.icmat.ma, the portal offers a comprehensive view of the ecosystem through four pillars: ICMAT organization (missions, composition, and operating procedures), regulatory framework (a compilation of legislative and regulatory texts governing the derivatives market), market ecosystem (detailed information on market operators and authorized members), and resource center (a library of publications, press releases, practical guides, forms, etc.).
