LGV Kenitra–Marrakesh: More than MAD 300 million for track and catenary works

The works for the high-speed line (LGV) between Kenitra and Marrakesh are on track. As proof, ONCF has just launched an open tender relating to track and catenary works between Roches Noires station and the Nouaceur technicentre.

The cost of the services for the works is estimated by the contracting authority at MAD 300 million (excluding taxes). Note that the contract aims to define the conditions for execution, payment and acceptance of the execution studies, supplies and works for track, catenary and civil engineering to be carried out at Roches Noires station and at the Nouaceur technicentre, within the framework of the kenitra–Marrakesh high-speed line project.

Regarding the scope of services, it is indicated that the works will be carried out near or on lines in operation. The areas concerned by the works are: Casa Roches Noires station, the Nouaceur technicentre, and the Ain Sebaa / Nouaceur section.

Furthermore, as part of the studies and works, the contractor is required to carry out several tasks (site installations, site tracks and signaling, topography works, earthworks, civil engineering structures, construction of platforms, railway track, catenary, etc.).

In addition, it should be specified that the overall execution period for the works is 12 months. Another crucial piece of information: the date for bid opening is set for 9 July 2026.

Finally, note that the completion rate of the Kenitra–Marrakesh LGV works, 430 km long, is 30%. This titanic project, which will require more than MAD 53 billion in investment, is the spearhead of the modernization of Morocco’s rail infrastructure by 2030.
