The National Airports Office (ONDA) continues its program to modernize airport infrastructure. The public entity led by Adel El Fakir has launched an international competition for the design and construction of VVIP lounges at Casablanca Mohammed V, Rabat-Salé, and Marrakech Menara airports. The objective: to offer an exclusive travel experience, in line with international standards for premium hospitality.

These spaces will be set up over an area of 1,200 square meters in each airport. In Casablanca, the VVIP lounge will be located north of Terminal 1; in Marrakech, west of the general aviation terminal; and in Rabat, in the existing Terminal 2 zone. The estimated budget for this project is set at 180 million dirhams (MDH).

A National Preference of 15%

These lounges must perfectly integrate with the existing architecture of the airports and offer distinct zones for relaxation, work, and dining, “in a warm scenographic atmosphere inspired both by international luxury codes and Moroccan cultural references,” specifies the Office. Restrooms will also be designed to meet accessibility standards, with the installation of toilets for persons with reduced mobility (PRM).

This call for applications is aimed at groups of architects, decorators, engineers, and companies specialized in very high-end fittings. ONDA will award a premium of 300,000 DH to the winner, an amount that will be deducted from the contract fees, and 80,000 DH to the fifth place. The Office also emphasizes that a national preference of 15% will apply in favor of Moroccan companies during the evaluation of bids.
