Marrakech–Menara Airport has won the title of Best Regional Airport in Africa at the 2026 World Airport Awards, organized by Skytrax in London, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA).

“Marrakech–Menara Airport has just been named Best Regional Airport in Africa at the 2026 World Airport Awards, whose ceremony was held on March 18 in London on the occasion of the PTE World event,” the Office stated in a press release, noting that this title reflects the growing strength of Moroccan airports and validates the transformation undertaken as part of the Airports 2030 strategy.

This international distinction, awarded for the first time by Skytrax to Marrakech Airport, also confirms the growing approval of passengers regarding the quality of the experience offered in Moroccan airports, the same source continued.

At the same time, it fully aligns with the transformation momentum led by ONDA through its Airports 2030 strategy, which places passenger experience, operational efficiency, and infrastructure modernization at the heart of the development of the national airport network.

The progress recorded by Marrakech–Menara in the global satisfaction survey conducted by Skytrax demonstrates the tangible impact of the actions undertaken by ONDA and all its partners: the Ministry of the Interior, the General Directorate of National Security, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Customs and Indirect Tax Administration, the local authorities of Marrakech, as well as the Ministry of Transport and Logistics.

With this distinction, Marrakech–Menara strengthens its position among the most efficient airports on the continent and confirms its role as a major gateway to Morocco.

Indeed, the airport is enjoying growing recognition among international travelers, attracted by the quality of reception, the smooth passenger journey, and the efficiency of operational services.

Established in 1999, the World Airport Awards are among the most prestigious distinctions in the global airport industry. The winners are determined based on the largest international passenger satisfaction survey, which evaluates the quality of services and infrastructure at more than 565 airports worldwide.

The study is based on questionnaires completed by travelers of more than 100 nationalities between August 2025 and early February 2026.
