The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Thursday the rescheduling of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations from July 25 to August 16.

After discussions with partners, FIFA, and other stakeholders, CAF decided to reschedule the dates to July 25 to August 16, 2026, in order to ensure the success of this major women’s competition, given certain unforeseen circumstances, the African football governing body stated in a press release.

“In October 2024, CAF awarded Morocco the hosting rights for the 2026 Women’s AFCON, initially scheduled from March 17 to April 3, 2026,” the same source recalled.

“Preparations for AFCON 2026 are underway and all parties are confident about its success,” the statement concluded.
