The second edition of the “Video Game Incubator” incubation program was launched on Tuesday in Rabat, for the benefit of twelve Moroccan entrepreneurs operating in the gaming industry.

Led by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, in partnership with the Embassy of France in Morocco, this program is part of the implementation of the intergovernmental declaration of intent concluded between Morocco and France, under the chairmanship of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, in support of the development of Morocco’s video game ecosystem.

This program represents a decisive step in structuring and developing Morocco’s gaming startup ecosystem. It aims to strengthen entrepreneurial skills, optimize production methods and processes, encourage the formation and long-term sustainability of high-performing teams, and promote the effective integration of the company’s core values.

Speaking on this occasion, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, emphasized that the partnership established between the two countries seeks to ensure effectiveness that is directly perceptible to the primary target group—namely young people—considering that this objective has now been achieved and that the gaming industry is henceforth a tangible reality.

In this regard, he highlighted Morocco’s gradual positioning on the international video game map, notably thanks to the support of foreign partners and the commitment of national stakeholders.

Likewise, the minister affirmed the government’s determination to continue guiding project leaders so as to enable Moroccan start-ups to grow, make the transition to SMEs and, ultimately, become major players in the gaming field.

For his part, the French Ambassador to Morocco, Christophe Lecourtier, expressed France’s pride in supporting Morocco’s vision for developing the gaming industry, recalling that, six months after the declaration of intent that gave rise to the various cooperation programs, the results observed demonstrate the relevance of this policy in favor of Moroccan youth.

The French diplomat stressed that this momentum offers a new generation of young Moroccans the opportunity to project themselves onto the international stage, through the companies they are called upon to create.

Mr. Lecourtier noted that the objective is to continue and strengthen this cooperation, announcing the participation of a major French delegation in the next edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo scheduled for May.

He also reported that, during the same month, a seminar will be organized bringing together French institutions and experts to engage in dialogue with Moroccan stakeholders and to imagine the next stages of cooperation.

In addition, French companies, currently being selected, will soon be invited to discover Morocco’s video game ecosystem, in an investment and mutually beneficial partnership approach aimed at enriching and consolidating this momentum, he said.

The twelve winners of this program will benefit from tailor-made support, developed by a specialized French company, with the assistance of top-level international experts. They will have access to training tailored to their specific needs, as well as to a strategic network bringing together major players in the sector.

As part of this momentum, the young entrepreneurs will take part in the 3rd edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo, to be held from 20 to 24 May in Rabat, in order to present their projects to professionals, investors, and potential partners.

The most promising projects will benefit from increased international visibility through their participation in the Gamescom trade fair in Germany at the end of August 2026, thus offering them a strategic opportunity to open up internationally and to connect with publishers and key players in the global market.
