United Nations Resolution on the Moroccan Sahara: A National Celebration

Moroccans in jubilation after the adoption of the UN Security Council resolution on the Moroccan Sahara. Even before the close of the voting session at the United Nations Security Council, the residents of Tangier began flocking to the Place des Nations, driven by the conviction that Moroccan diplomacy, proactive and efficient, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, had managed to mobilize the necessary international support for the adoption of this resolution, marking a decisive turning point in the process of resolving this artificial regional conflict.

Proudly waving Moroccan flags and singing patriotic songs, many citizens expressed their joy and satisfaction following the adoption of this resolution, which constitutes an essential step toward the definitive settlement of this issue, within the framework of a consensual solution based on the Autonomy Plan under Moroccan sovereignty.

The festivities in Tangier were marked by processions of vehicles decorated in national colors, the installation of a giant screen on the Place des Nations for the broadcast of enthusiastic patriotic songs, as well as fireworks illuminating the city’s sky, symbolizing the light of historical rights and the legal and religious legitimacy of Morocco over its Sahara, and paving the way for a definitive resolution of this artificial conflict.

Rabat in jubilation… as well

Thousands of Rabat residents took to the streets of the capital Friday evening to celebrate, in an atmosphere of grand occasions, imbued with feelings of pride and sincere patriotism, the historic resolution of the United Nations Security Council on the Moroccan Sahara.

On foot or by motor vehicle, men and women, young and old, traversed the main arteries of the capital singing patriotic songs in praise of the homeland and its territorial unity, thus giving full measure of their constant mobilization behind HM the King for the defense of the foremost national cause.

In an atmosphere filled with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm, many Casablancans, men and women, young and old, gathered throughout the avenues and streets to properly celebrate this historic moment.

Marrakech: Popular effervescence to celebrate the UN resolution

A genuine popular effervescence took hold of the city of Marrakech Friday evening, where different neighborhoods and arteries were filled by a large crowd gathered to celebrate the new UN resolution.
At a glance, the arteries of the ochre city transformed into processions of motorcycles and cars adorned with flags, in a festive atmosphere reflecting the constant mobilization of Moroccans for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

From the Espace Citoyen hub to the M’Hamid neighborhood, passing through the iconic Jemaa El Fna square, Mohammed V Avenue, Hassan II Boulevard, and Mohammed VI Boulevard, the people of Marrakech insisted on celebrating this memorable moment which marks a decisive turning point in the process of consecrating the Moroccan identity of the Sahara, in a climate of fervor and attachment to the nation’s constants.

Es-Semara overflows with joy

With a fervor of rare intensity, reflecting the depth of national belonging and the unbreakable unity between the Throne and the people, the city of Es-Semara lived, Friday evening, to the rhythm of an overflowing popular jubilation.
Upon the announcement of this adoption, residents flocked en masse to the March Verde square, where part of the activities commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of this glorious epic were taking place. Public spaces filled with sincere patriotic fervor, transforming the spiritual and cultural city of the Moroccan Sahara into a vast stage of collective delight.

The voices of citizens resonated in this part of the Kingdom, singing patriotic songs exalting national unity. Joy mingled with pride, making this popular gathering the living expression of a renewed oath of allegiance, deeply rooted in hearts and passed down from generation to generation.

The ululations of women, dressed in their traditional Sahrawi melhfas, blended harmoniously with the sounds of Hassani folk troupes, who ignited the crowd with their authentic dances and rhythms.

Dakhla and Laâyoune celebrated the historic Security Council resolution with pride and unity

From the official announcement, groups of citizens, families, youth, and notables of the city left their neighborhoods to converge on the main axes of Dakhla, animated by a shared patriotic impulse and a common feeling of pride and gratitude for this major diplomatic advance.
Laâyoune also donned the national colors. Concerts of car horns, ululations, and patriotic songs resounded along Mohammed VI, Mecca, and Al Kairaouane boulevards, where an enthusiastic crowd converged on the Place El Méchouar, in an atmosphere of jubilation and national pride.

With flags and portraits of HM King Mohammed VI in hand, children, youth, and entire families expressed, in a common fervor, their unbreakable attachment to the unity of the Kingdom and their support for Morocco’s diplomatic efforts under the Sovereign’s wise leadership to definitively close this artificial dispute.
