The Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT) is taking part in the International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF), held in Berlin from March 23 to 25, 2026, with the aim of strengthening Morocco’s position as a leading destination for tourism and hotel investment on an international scale.

Morocco’s presence at this major global hospitality industry event is part of the national strategy to increase the Kingdom’s attractiveness to international investors and reflects its determination to strengthen its visibility and attract new investments in a context of heightened competition among tourist destinations.

Morocco’s tourism sector includes more than 300,000 beds and over 5,000 operational establishments, with a development pace exceeding 100 new hotels per year, according to SMIT, which is deploying a strategic push at IHIF Berlin to position the Kingdom as one of the most attractive and competitive destinations in the world for tourism and hotel investment.

These performances reflect the attractiveness of the Moroccan market and the renewed confidence of both national and international investors in the Kingdom’s tourism potential, a country that relies on strong fundamentals and sustained growth momentum.

In the context of co-hosting the 2030 World Cup, this momentum is expected to accelerate through the strengthening of tourism infrastructure and accommodation capacity, in line with the sector’s roadmap.

The Kingdom is participating in IHIF 2026 with a delegation of national investors, accompanying SMIT, with the aim of promoting a portfolio of projects, establishing partnerships with international operators, and strengthening Morocco’s integration into global tourism investment dynamics.

Several highlights are planned for this occasion, including a speech by SMIT’s Director General, Imad Barrakad, focusing on emerging opportunities in Morocco’s hospitality sector, as well as sessions dedicated to investment and the development of international partnerships.

Through this participation in IHIF, Morocco aims to consolidate a competitive, diversified, and sustainable tourism investment offering, capable of meeting the expectations of international investors and supporting the sector’s long-term growth.

IHIF is a leading international platform bringing together major investors, operators, financial institutions, and public decision-makers. It provides a privileged framework for promoting investment opportunities, strengthening strategic partnerships, and directing capital flows toward high-potential markets.
