Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport: Passenger traffic jumps by 11.5% by the end of April
By the end of April 2026, the airport handled more than 872,000 passengers, marking an 11.5% increase compared to the same period the previous year. This growth was driven mainly by international flights.
Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport recorded a strong increase in activity during the first four months of 2026.
According to data published by the National Airports Office (ONDA), the airport handled 872,341 passengers by the end of April, compared to 782,377 during the same period the previous year, representing an increase of 11.5%.
This growth was driven primarily by international traffic, which remains largely dominant. International flights carried 799,357 passengers, marking a 12.2% year-on-year increase.
Domestic traffic, for its part, reached 72,984 passengers, recording an increase of around 4%.
Air traffic activity also saw sustained growth. The number of aircraft movements stood at 6,945 by the end of April 2026, compared to 6,170 a year earlier, reflecting a 12.5% rise and confirming the dynamism of this airport infrastructure in the north of the Kingdom.
For April alone, the airport handled 272,864 passengers, up 10.5% compared to the 246,793 travellers recorded in April 2025, according to ONDA.
Across the Kingdom’s airports, commercial traffic reached 12,336,962 passengers by the end of April 2026, an increase of 9.7% compared to the same period last year, ONDA reported.
