SIAM: Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan presides over the opening of the 17th edition
More than 1,500 exhibitors are present at this 17th edition, which will be marked by the organization of several scientific conferences and round tables, aiming to combine expertise and explore concrete avenues and alternatives to serve a more resilient agriculture, capable of meeting climate challenges and preserving the balance of the agricultural ecosystem, thus ensuring the country’s sustainable food sovereignty.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan presided, on Monday at Mechouar Stinia-Sahrij Souani in Meknes, the opening ceremony of the 17th edition of the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM), held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, from April 21 to 27, under the theme «Agriculture and Rural World: Water at the Heart of Sustainable Development».
The opening by His Royal Highness of this Show is a new illustration of the High care and benevolence with which His Majesty the King constantly surrounds the agricultural sector, as well as a testimony to the Kingdom’s strong commitment, under the Sovereign’s leadership, to global priority issues such as food security, sustainable development, and the fight against climate change.
Upon arrival at the Show, HRH the Crown Prince reviewed a detachment of the Royal Guard rendering honors, before being greeted by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, the governor (wali) of the Fez-Meknes region, the president of the Fez-Meknes regional council, the governor of Meknes prefecture, the president of the Meknes prefectural council, the president of the Meknes communal council, and the president of the Mechouar Stinia commune.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan was also greeted by the president of the Fez-Meknes Regional Chamber of Agriculture, the pasha of Mechouar Stinia, the president and members of the SIAM Board of Directors and sponsors, the president of the Federation of Agricultural Chambers, the president of the Moroccan Confederation of Agriculture and Rural Development (COMADER), and the interim general commissioner of the Show.
At the entrance of the International Agricultural Show in Morocco, His Royal Highness was welcomed by Mr. Benjamin Haddad, French Minister Delegate to the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, in charge of Europe, whose country is the guest of honor of this 17th edition, as well as by dignitaries representing invited foreign countries (Angola, Benin, Central African Republic, Ivory Coast, Eswatini, Iraq, Liberia, Malawi, Uganda, Palestine, Sao Tomé and Principe, and South Sudan), and development partners (Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization/ICESCO, Arab Organization for Agricultural Development/OADA, and World Water Council).
Subsequently, HRH the Crown Prince visited the «Regions» area, then posed for a commemorative photo with the presidents of the regional councils, and visited the «Water and Irrigation» and «Research and Innovation» spaces at the pavilion of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests and the pavilion of the OCP Group.
His Royal Highness also visited the «Sponsors», «Institutional», «Agri-food», «International», «Agri-digital», «Agro-supply», «Nature and Environment», «Machinery», «Local Products», «Livestock Inputs», and «Livestock» sections.
Located at Sahrij Souani square on an area of 12.4 hectares, SIAM 2025 hosts participation from 70 countries, with France as the guest of honor, a choice reflecting the excellence of relations between the two countries and the dynamism marking bilateral cooperation.

The International Agricultural Show in Morocco 2025 offers visitors a wide range of products and state-of-the-art agricultural machinery, aiming to promote agricultural and animal production and enhance key sectors of the regional economy, including agri-food and its related food industry.
Over the editions, SIAM has succeeded in positioning itself as one of the essential events in the agricultural sector in Africa and a privileged platform for meetings and partnership opportunities among the various actors and operators of the ecosystem.
