Seghrouchni: The “Cloud 2025–2030” roadmap strengthens the Kingdom’s digital sovereignty

The Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fellah Seghrouchni, indicated on Monday at the House of Representatives that the roadmap for cloud services 2025–2030, developed by the ministry, will strengthen the Kingdom’s digital sovereignty within the framework of the Morocco Digital 2030 strategy, through the “Cloud First Policy.”

In response to a question on “digital sovereignty through the use of cloud services,” Seghrouchni stated that this policy will be adopted progressively and according to an integrated approach, as a default option within public services. This will allow for the strengthening of cybersecurity, the rationalization of costs, and the unification of technical standards at the State level.

She noted, in this regard, that this policy encourages investments and strategic partnerships, including the project to create the Dakhla data center “EcoDar,” which relies on renewable energy and high competitiveness.

The minister also reported on the ongoing deployment of the “Al-Jazari” institutes to promote innovation, in addition to the creation of the “Center of Excellence for the Cloud,” which will be responsible for developing practical guides and technical references governing cloud adoption. This will allow for strengthened interoperability between ministries while increasing their capacity to face digital risks according to unified and secure standards.

The ministry, she added, is working on the establishment of the “National Cloud Observatory,” which will play an essential role in strategic monitoring through tracking market developments and controlling performance and risk indicators.

She emphasized, in this regard, that this observatory will provide a database to support decision-making and enhance digital security, thus promoting governance and innovation.
