Port activity: Marsa Maroc posts its strongest operational and financial results

Marsa Maroc closed the 2025 financial year with total handled traffic exceeding 67 million tonnes (+6%) and revenue of MAD 5.8 billion, marking a strong 16% increase compared with 2024, thereby delivering its best operational and financial performance to date.

“All business segments recorded positive growth, reflecting very strong commercial momentum. Containerised traffic crossed the historic threshold of 3 million Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) for the first time (+4%), allowing Marsa Maroc to rank as the 4th largest container operator in Africa,” the Group said in a press release.

Dry bulk and general cargo reached 22 million tonnes (+4%), while liquid bulk totalled 11 million tonnes (+5%). New vehicle traffic recorded the strongest increase, with 150,000 units handled, up 50%, while Ro-Ro activity exceeded 27,000 units (+11%).

On the financial front, the indicators confirm the Group’s robustness. Gross Operating Surplus reached MAD 3.2 billion (+22%), reflecting both the positive momentum of activity and ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency.

Group Net Profit stood at nearly MAD 1.6 billion, up 25%, demonstrating Marsa Maroc’s ability to convert growth into profitability.
