OMPIC: 7,874 Companies Created in January 2026

Trade ranks first with 27.48% of newly created legal entities, followed by construction and real estate activities (25.56%), and various services (19.14%).

The number of companies created in Morocco reached 7,874 units in January 2026, according to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).

Legal entities accounted for 74% of the total, with 5,827 creations, compared to 2,047 sole proprietorships (26%), the Office stated in a press release.

The single-member limited liability company (SARL AU) remains the most popular legal form, representing 66.7% of registrations among legal entities, followed by the SARL with 32.4%.

Geographically, the Casablanca-Settat region ranks first with 39.6% of legal entity creations, ahead of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (13.8%), Marrakech-Safi (12.5%), and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (11.1%). These four regions alone account for 77% of creations nationwide.

By sector of activity, trade ranks first with 27.48% of newly created legal entities, followed by construction and real estate activities (25.56%), various services (19.14%), transport (8.16%), and industry (6.75%).

Regarding sole proprietorships, the Tangier–Tetouan–Al Hoceima region ranks first with 23%, ahead of Casablanca-Settat (12.5%), the Oriental region (11.5%), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (9.3%), and Fès-Meknès (9.2%).

Moreover, 12,136 trade names were registered during the same month.
