The Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, reiterated on Wednesday Morocco’s firm and constant support for its brotherly Arab countries in the face of Iranian attacks, as well as the Kingdom’s categorical rejection of anything that could undermine these countries’ sovereignty or threaten their security and stability.
“The Kingdom reaffirms its firm and constant support for its brotherly Arab countries, as well as its categorical rejection of anything that could undermine their sovereignty or threaten their security and stability,” Mr. Laftit stated during his address at the 43rd session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, held via videoconference with the participation of interior ministers from Arab countries as well as representatives of Arab organizations, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior.
In this context, Mr. Laftit expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation of these attacks, emphasizing Morocco’s full solidarity with the brotherly countries targeted and its firm commitment to serving Arab causes.
The Kingdom of Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, is following with deep concern the rapidly evolving developments in the Middle East and the Iranian attacks against brotherly Arab countries in the region, the minister noted.
Mr. Laftit also stressed that resorting to peaceful and diplomatic solutions remains the most appropriate way to resolve crises, in order to avoid further escalation and to preserve the security and stability of the region.
This session provided an opportunity to examine several security issues of common interest, in a context marked by increasing challenges in the Arab region and security threats affecting the stability of several Arab countries.
At the end of the session, the Council adopted a series of resolutions aimed at strengthening joint security action and enhancing coordination among Arab states to address current and future challenges.
The Council’s proceedings concluded with a declaration condemning the Iranian attacks against Arab countries, which constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of these states, international law, and the United Nations Charter, as well as a serious threat to international peace and security, the statement concludes.
