Moroccan Airports: Over 8.9 million passengers by the end of March
By the end of the first quarter of 2026, passenger traffic at the Kingdom’s various airports rose by 11.15% year‑on‑year, driven by international traffic.
Morocco’s airports recorded a commercial traffic volume of 8,913,041 passengers by the end of March 2026, marking an increase of 11.15% compared with the same period a year earlier, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA).
Mohammed V Airport, which accounts for more than 30% of total traffic, welcomed 2,730,209 passengers, representing a 15.92% rise compared with the end of March 2025, ONDA specifies.
Similarly, most other airports posted strong growth rates, notably Béni Mellal (+31.35%), Errachidia (+20.81%), Nador El Aroui (+13.83%), Rabat-Salé (+13.51%), Tangier Ibn Battuta (+11.86%), Marrakech-Menara (+11.68%) and Agadir Al Massira (+10.76%). This performance was driven essentially by international traffic.
The breakdown of passenger air traffic between domestic and international flights by the end of March 2026 shows that the Kingdom’s airports handled 8,022,866 international passengers (+10.91%) and 890,175 domestic passengers (+13.34%).
Growth in international traffic concerned all geographical segments. Thus, Europe, which accounts for more than 80% of total international traffic, recorded an increase of 9.82%. Other markets—namely Africa, the Middle and Far East, North America, the Maghreb, and South America—posted growth rates of 20.96%, 9.45%, 25.9%, 14.12%, and 37.69%, respectively.
As regards airport movements, ONDA reports that 67,263 departing and arriving flights were recorded across all Moroccan airports by the end of March 2026, representing an increase of 11.24% compared with the end of March 2025.
Air freight traffic, for its part, rose by 13.33% by the end of March 2026, reaching more than 29,846 tonnes, compared with 26,335 tonnes over the same period in 2025.
