His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, has received an invitation from His Excellency Mr. Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, to join, as a Founding Member, the Peace Council that the American President plans to launch as an initiative aimed at “contributing to peace efforts in the Middle East and adopting a new approach to resolving conflicts in the world,” according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad.

Participation in this Council is reserved for a select group of leaders of international stature, committed to a safe and prosperous future for generations to come, the statement specifies, adding that this invitation constitutes a recognition of His Majesty the King’s enlightened leadership and His Stature as an indispensable peace actor. It testifies to the confidence the Sovereign enjoys with the President of the United States and the international community.

While saluting the commitment and vision of President Donald Trump for the promotion of peace, His Majesty the King, may God assist Him, has graciously responded favorably to this invitation. In this context, the Kingdom of Morocco will ratify the constitutive Charter of this Council.

The Peace Council will take the legal form of an international organization with the ambition of promoting stability, restoring governance, and guaranteeing lasting peace in areas affected or threatened by conflict. The mandate of this major structure will be based on practical cooperation, effective action, and results-oriented partnerships. Participation in this Council is exclusively by invitation from the President of the United States of America.

Furthermore, the Kingdom of Morocco welcomes the announcement of the launch of the second phase of President Trump’s comprehensive peace plan, as well as the official creation of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza as a temporary transitional body.

Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King, reiterates its constant commitment to a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East, allowing for the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, living side by side and in peace with Israel.
