Mezzour holds talks in Rabat with India’s Defense Minister
Relations between Morocco and India have seen significant momentum since the visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to India in 2015, marked by notable progress, particularly in the industrial field, specified the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour, held talks on Monday in Rabat with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of India, Rajnath Singh, who was accompanied by a high-level delegation on a working visit to Morocco.
On this occasion, Mr. Mezzour emphasized that relations between Morocco and India have experienced significant dynamism since the visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to India in 2015, marked by notable progress, particularly in the industrial domain.
The minister noted that Indian investments have multiplied in the Kingdom, especially in the defense industry, specifying that several Indian companies are already leading projects in this field.
Mr. Mezzour also indicated that Mr. Singh’s visit to Morocco is an opportunity to oversee these projects and proceed with the inauguration of the Tata Advanced Systems Maroc factory, dedicated to the manufacturing of wheeled armored platforms.
According to him, the choice of Morocco reflects confidence in the Kingdom’s stable climate.
This visit by Mr. Singh is part of the consolidation and diversification of bilateral cooperation between Morocco and India, marked earlier in the day by the signing of a memorandum of understanding concerning cooperation in the fields of training, drills and exercises, cybersecurity and cyberdefense, the defense industry, military health, as well as the exchange of experience and expertise in various areas of mutual interest.
