The Regional Investment Center (CRI) of Marrakesh-Safi announces exceptional results for the first quarter of 2025, confirming the upward momentum of the region in terms of economic attractiveness and the realization of investment projects, with 231 projects approved, up 18% compared to the same period in 2024.

In terms of economic impact, 38.5 billion dirhams of investments were approved for this first quarter, an increase of 51% compared to the same period in 2024, and more than 11,100 jobs are projected, up 135%.

In a statement, the CRI affirms that during this first quarter, the industrial sector confirms its driving role with 8.3 billion dirhams invested and nearly 6,000 jobs created. Three industrial and energy sector projects stand out in particular, the same source emphasizes: a wind farm in Safi over an area of 800 hectares; the OCP Mzinda Phosphate Hub dedicated to the production of phosphate derivatives, which will accelerate the industrial maturity of the region; and a large-scale pasta production unit.

As of the end of March 2025, the services sector accounts for nearly 50% of the amounts committed since the beginning of the year, reflecting the rise of structuring projects in finance, health, logistics, and higher education, with, as an example, the approval of the International University of Marrakesh project.

Finally, tourism remains a pillar of the region’s attractiveness, with 116 projects. A majority of these projects are hotel assets, which will in the coming months and years strengthen the region’s accommodation capacity, specifies the CRI, in anticipation of upcoming major national events, including the World Cup.

These figures, which continue the trend observed in 2024, which ended with a total of 798 projects having received a favorable opinion, for an amount of 96.1 billion dirhams, testify to the enhanced efficiency of the CRI-CRUI system, which has succeeded in streamlining investor support and accelerating the processing of projects with high economic impact, it is emphasized.

The CRI also indicates that a growing number of structuring projects are accompanying the economic momentum and strengthening the region’s hosting offer. This first quarter was thus marked by the launch of the Marrakesh Industrial Park by the Regional Council. A platform that will very soon offer a real expansion pocket for industrial activity at the Marrakesh level.
