Marrakech Grand Stadium: 767 MDH for the Roof and Façade
Following the launch of the first lot covering demolition, structural work, waterproofing, and finishing works, the Marrakech Grand Stadium construction site is entering a new phase. The future roof and facade are the subject of a call for tenders launched by ANEP.
The National Agency for Public Equipment (ANEP) is continuing the implementation of the transformation program for the Marrakech Grand Stadium in preparation for the 2030 World Cup. A call for tenders for lot no. 2, dedicated to the roof and facade of the stadium, has been launched for an estimated amount of 767 million dirhams.
This contract provides for the construction of an entirely new roof intended to cover the stadium stands. The structure will rest on four columns located at the corners of the stadium. The project also includes work on the facade, as part of a broader architectural redesign of the Marrakech Grand Stadium.
The overall deadline for the execution of the works is set at twelve months. The architectural design of this upgrade has been entrusted to the agency Saâd Benkirane Architecte. The technical studies, meanwhile, are being carried out by the consortium composed of EGIS Bâtiments International and LUSEO.
These works are part of a more profound transformation of the infrastructure. The program notably provides for lowering the level of the pitch and removing the athletics track. These arrangements are intended to bring the stands closer to the field, review the configuration of the tiers, and increase the stadium’s capacity to meet FIFA requirements. Sonarges indicates that the capacity of the stadium is to increase from 40,500 to 45,860 seats by 2030.
This second lot comes after the launch of the first, dedicated to demolition operations, structural work, waterproofing, flooring, false ceilings, joinery, and painting. For this first contract, the financial offer of TGCC, the only bid declared admissible, was set at 902.86 million dirhams.
Together, the first two lots represent an investment of nearly 1.67 billion dirhams. They constitute a central stage in the second phase of modernization of the Marrakech Grand Stadium, intended to bring the stadium into compliance with the standards required to host matches of the 2030 World Cup.wordk
