According to the newspaper, the Kingdom, leveraging its geographic position at the crossroads of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, offers a competitive alternative in a context marked by disruptions in global supply chains and the rerouting of maritime traffic.
This competitiveness is reinforced by a regulatory and tax environment considered more attractive, thereby reducing port call and operating costs, the publication explains.
In this context, the same source continues, Morocco is among the main beneficiaries of the decline in activity at European ports, whose share of global traffic has decreased in recent years in favor of hubs located outside the European Union.
The daily highlights the port of Tanger Med as a central driver of this dynamic, offering an integrated logistics platform capable of capturing part of the redirected flows.
“Its proximity to Spanish ports intensifies direct competition, making it more difficult to recover traffic once it has been diverted,” the same source adds.
