Gitex Africa Morocco 2026: From 7 to 9 April, Under the Theme of AI
This 4th edition, to be held in the city of Marrakech, is organized under the theme: “Catalyzing the African Digital Economy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.”
Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, the fourth edition of Gitex Africa Morocco will take place from 7 to 9 April in Marrakech, affirming the Red City as one of the continent’s major hubs for technology and innovation. The largest technology and start-up gathering in Africa, this event is organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, by the Digital Development Agency (ADD) and KAOUN International, a subsidiary of the Dubai World Trade Center.
At a time when artificial intelligence is profoundly reshaping global value chains, Gitex Africa Morocco 2026 places this technology at the heart of its ambition: to support the emergence of a competitive, inclusive, sovereign, and sustainable African digital economy. Held under the theme “Catalyzing the African Digital Economy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” this edition will bring together in Marrakech public decision-makers, industry leaders, start-ups, investors, researchers, and leading technology players, to explore the levers for structuring responsible AI infrastructures, advancing digital public policies, and accelerating the scaling of high-impact solutions for the continent.
This momentum fully aligns with the vision carried by the Digital for Sustainable Development Hub (D4SD), launched by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme. Through this initiative, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, emphasizes that “through D4SD, we are building a platform for Arab-African digital cooperation based on pooling expertise, developing skills, and deploying artificial intelligence solutions tailored to our countries’ development priorities.” A clear ambition, she continues, aimed at making digital technology “a structuring lever for co-development in Africa, while ensuring that technological innovation contributes tangibly to sustainable development and to improving citizens’ lives.”
From this continental perspective, Gitex Africa Morocco is positioning itself as a structuring space for convergence between public policies, investment, and innovation.
For Amine El Mezouaghi, Director General of the Digital Development Agency, artificial intelligence is “a decisive lever for the digital development of the African continent, provided that effective convergence between public policies, infrastructure, and investment is ensured. Gitex Africa Morocco is establishing itself as a strategic framework for co-construction, capable of bringing together African and international ecosystems around concrete solutions, fully adapted to the realities of the continent, while accelerating the rollout of high-impact digital projects and sustainably strengthening local capabilities.”
