Full Text of the Royal Speech
His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, addressed a Speech to His loyal people on Friday. Here is the full text of the Royal Speech.
“Praise be to God, Prayer and peace upon the Prophet, His family, and His companions.
God says in His Holy Book: ‘We have granted you a manifest victory.’ Truthful is the word of God.
Dear people,
By the grace of the Lord and with His help, after fifty years of sacrifices, we are opening a new victorious chapter in the process of consecrating the Moroccan identity of the Sahara, intended to definitively close the file of this artificial conflict, through a consensual solution based on the Autonomy Initiative.
It is a true source of pride that this historic change occurs at the time when the fiftieth and seventieth anniversaries of the Green March and the Independence of Morocco are respectively commemorated.
On this occasion, I rejoice in sharing with you the satisfaction inspired in Me by the content of the latest Resolution of the Security Council.
We are living a pivotal stage and a decisive turning point in the history of modern Morocco: Henceforth, there will be a before and an after October 31, 2025.
The time has come for a united Morocco that stretches from Tangier to Lagouira: one whose rights no one will dare to violate, nor transgress its historical borders.
Dear people,
In a previous Speech, I affirmed that, concerning the matter of our territorial integrity, we had moved from a phase of proper management to that of a dynamic of change.
Indeed, the dynamic that We have driven in recent years has begun to bear fruit on all fronts.
In fact, two-thirds of the member states of the United Nations now consider the Autonomy Initiative to be the only valid framework for reaching a settlement of this conflict.
Moreover, recognition of the Kingdom’s economic sovereignty over its Southern Provinces has widely expanded after major economic powers such as the United States of America, France, Great Britain, Russia, Spain, and the European Union decided to encourage investments in these provinces and promote trade with them.
With such an asset, these provinces can now assert themselves within their regional environment, including the Sahel and Sahara region, as a pole of development and stability and a central axis of economic activity.
Praise be to God, we are entering the decisive phase of the UN process since the Security Council Resolution defines the principles and foundations likely to lead to a definitive political settlement of this conflict, in strict respect of the legitimate rights of Morocco.
In line with the UN Resolution, Morocco will proceed to update and formulate in detail the Autonomy Proposal with a view to subsequent submission to the United Nations. As a realistic and applicable solution, it must constitute the sole basis for negotiation.
We take this opportunity to express our thanks and consideration to all the countries that, through their constructive positions and sustained efforts in favor of right and legitimacy, have contributed to the advent of this change.
I reserve a special mention for the United States of America, under the leadership of Our Friend, His Excellency President Donald Trump, whose efforts have paved the way for a definitive settlement of this conflict.
We also thank our friends in Great Britain and Spain, and more particularly, in France, whose efforts have contributed to the success of this peaceful process.
Our warm thanks also go to all the brotherly Arab and African countries that have never ceased to express their unconditional support for the Moroccan identity of the Sahara, as well as to the various countries of the world that support the Autonomy Initiative.
Although the issue of our territorial integrity is witnessing positive developments, Morocco remains attached to the necessity of reaching a solution that saves face for all parties, without victor or vanquished.
Morocco does not brandish these changes as a trophy and does not wish in any way to fuel antagonisms or accentuate divisions.
In this context, We sincerely call on our brothers in the Tindouf camps to seize this historic opportunity to reunite with their families and enjoy the possibility offered to them by the Autonomy Initiative to contribute to the management of local affairs, the development of their homeland, and the building of their future, within the fold of a united Morocco.
In My capacity as King, guarantor of the rights and freedoms of citizens, I solemnly affirm that, all Moroccans being equal, there is no difference between the persons returned from the Tindouf camps and their brothers settled in the rest of the national territory.
Furthermore, I invite My Brother, His Excellency President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to a sincere fraternal dialogue between Morocco and Algeria so that, our differences overcome, we lay the foundations for new relations based on trust, fraternity, and good neighborliness.
Moreover, We reiterate our commitment to continue working towards the revival of the Maghreb Union, on the basis of mutual respect, cooperation, and complementarity between its five member states.
Dear people,
The general development of our southern provinces, as well as the security and stability that reign there, have been made possible thanks to the sacrifices of all Moroccans.
In this regard, We wish to express the pride and consideration inspired in Us by all Our loyal subjects, and more particularly the inhabitants of our Southern Provinces, who have always demonstrated their attachment to the sacred symbols of the Nation, its national unity, and its territorial integrity.
We also salute the tireless efforts of official, partisan, and parliamentary diplomacy and those of the various national institutions, to definitively close the file of our territorial integrity.
The anniversary of the Glorious Green March is an occasion to remember with deference the great sacrifices made, over the past fifty years, by the Royal Armed Forces and the security forces in all their components, as well as by their families established throughout the national territory, in order to defend the unity of the country and preserve its security and stability.
We remember with reverence and salute the memory of the Architect of the Green March, Our Venerated Father, His Majesty King Hassan II, may God have him in His holy mercy, as well as that of all the valiant martyrs of the Nation.
Peace be upon you, and the mercy of God and His blessings.”
