France: Open-House Days at Moroccan Consulates on March 7 and 14

The seventeen consulates general of the Kingdom of Morocco in France will hold open-house days on March 7 and 14 for members of the Moroccan community established in France, so as to enable them to collect their consular documents without prior appointment.

This initiative, organized under the supervision of the Moroccan Embassy in Paris, forms part of the mobilization of Morocco’s consular network in France to facilitate users’ access to consular services and to bring the administration closer to citizens.

It also falls within the commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad to translate, concretely on the ground, the High Solicitude with which His Majesty King Mohammed VI surrounds Moroccan nationals established around the world, through the continuous improvement of local services and the strengthening of consular support.

On this occasion, all consulates will be mobilized to ensure the smooth running of this operation and to provide the Moroccan nationals concerned with appropriate conditions for collecting their documents.

This operation illustrates the ongoing commitment to improving the quality of consular services and meeting the expectations of members of the Moroccan community.

Meeting the needs of members of the Moroccan community

In a statement to MAP, the Kingdom’s Consul General in Colombes, Nadya Talmi, said that this operation—the second organized during the holy month of Ramadan—aims to meet the needs of members of the Moroccan community and satisfy their expectations regarding the delivery of nearby consular services.

It indeed opens up a time slot for those who cannot travel during the consulate general’s usual opening days and hours, to come at the end of the week to collect their passport, national identity card, adoulary deed, or any other certificate, she explained.

As part of His Majesty the King’s High Solicitude toward Moroccans of the World, these days are also used to make available to users an advice desk, notably regarding civil status and notarial services, and to assist and facilitate appointment booking on the online platform, she added.

For his part, the Kingdom’s Consul General in Lille, Abdelkader Abidine, stated that these initiatives fall within the framework of the high instructions and guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to provide appropriate assistance and help to Moroccan nationals residing abroad. They not only make consular procedures easier for users, but also give them the opportunity to benefit from advice, information, and guidance from the consulate general’s staff, notably in legal and notarial matters.

Moreover, the consulate general is also setting up a desk dedicated to assisting people who wish to book appointments online.
These actions, he continued, are highly appreciated by members of the Moroccan community, and they form part of the national strategy aimed at better adapting consular action to their needs and improving the quality of the services offered to them during their travels.

Personalized support for users

To this end, they are welcomed in a pleasant setting that guarantees them comfort and swift handling of their requests, added the Kingdom’s Consul General in Lille.

The Consul of Morocco in Bordeaux, Nouzha Sahel, indicated, for her part, that these local actions in the service of the Moroccan community reflect the constant desire of this consular representation to make its work regular and continuous.

“Beyond their administrative dimension, these days offer real opportunities for meeting, listening, and direct dialogue with members of the Moroccan community,” she told MAP. They enable personalized support for users, notably social cases, elderly people, and people with reduced mobility, she noted.

“As the month of Ramadan is also a period during which many fellow citizens travel to Morocco to spend time with family, the consulate ensures that their administrative procedures are facilitated in advance, so as to allow them to travel under the best conditions,” she said.

Moreover, in addition to the open-house days, a home service has been put in place to address certain particular situations.

“Consular outreach trips are also planned, as in previous years, in several departments far from the consulate’s headquarters, in order to provide a local public service as close as possible to where our fellow citizens live,” she stated, noting that “this initiative is part of a vision based on proximity, accessibility, and modernization of the consular public service.”

She added that, through all these actions, “the consulate reaffirms its constant commitment to a human, effective public service that is attentive to the needs of Moroccans residing in the consular district.”
