Football: Tarik Sektioui, New Head Coach of the Oman National Team
Beyond his distinguished playing career, Tarik Sektioui has achieved several titles as a national team coach.
The Oman Football Association announced on Sunday the appointment of Moroccan coach Tarik Sektioui as head coach of the Oman national team, succeeding Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz.
The Moroccan coach has been hired to lead the Omani national team in the coming period, with a view to upcoming competitions, the Federation stated on its official website.
It added that Carlos Queiroz’s contract was terminated by mutual agreement, while expressing its gratitude to the Portuguese coach for his work at the helm of the Omani national team.
Beyond his distinguished playing career, Tarik Sektioui has achieved several titles as a national team coach, notably the bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as well as the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) title and the 2025 Arab Cup title in Qatar.
