FIFA Diploma In Law: Rabat, The Only African City Hosting A Training Module
The Football Law Diploma program will span 12 months and be divided into five four-day modules, delivered in five cities worldwide, including Rabat.
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has launched the fourth edition of its Football Law Diploma, a high-level legal training program for legal professionals specializing in sports worldwide.
The 2026-2027 edition will include a module held in Rabat from November 10 to 13, 2026, according to a statement published on FIFA’s list, marking further recognition of Morocco’s growing role in the international football ecosystem.
Building on the success of its first three editions, this diploma aims to provide an in-depth understanding of key legal issues related to football, while strengthening the capacities of lawyers working within federations, leagues, clubs, player unions, and private firms. The program aligns with FIFA’s commitment to professionalize and harmonize the legal framework of football globally.
The program will span 12 months and be divided into five four-day modules, delivered in five cities around the world:
– Miami (United States) – Module 1 (May 2026): Introduction to Football Law;
– Asunción (Paraguay) – Module 2 (September 2026): Transfer Regulations (I);
– Rabat – Module 3 (November 2026): Transfer Regulations (II);
– Dubai (United Arab Emirates) – Module 4 (February 2027, to be confirmed): Additional Legal Aspects (discipline, doping, commercial rights, etc.);
– Zurich (Switzerland) – Module 5 (May 2027): Procedures before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The Rabat module will delve into FIFA’s transfer regulations, with a focus on contract termination, training compensation, and the solidarity mechanism, topics highly relevant to the management of players’ careers.
The program is open to lawyers worldwide. The registration fee is 10,000 US dollars, covering educational materials, coffee breaks, lunches, and some group activities. FIFA will cover the training and travel expenses of candidates from its member associations, while other participants must cover the fees themselves or through their affiliated organizations.
