Eid al-Adha 2026: ONSSA reports an overall satisfactory health record
The Office mobilised 500 veterinarians and technicians throughout the days of Eid. In total, more than 3,750 carcasses were inspected and 350 household visits were carried out.
The special arrangement put in place by the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA) on the occasion of Eid al-Adha 1447 (2026), combined with the mobilisation of its veterinary services and laboratories, as well as the involvement of the various stakeholders concerned, allowed this religious celebration to take place under health conditions deemed satisfactory.
In this context, ONSSA deployed 500 veterinarians and technicians throughout the Eid period. This mobilisation enabled the inspection of more than 3,750 carcasses and the carrying out of 350 home visits to support households and raise awareness about hygiene rules related to meat and offal.
In addition, the Office’s services handled more than 2,000 requests received by phone or via social media. These interactions made it possible to answer citizens’ questions and assist them with concerns related to the sanitary quality of products resulting from the sacrifice.
At the same time, the Office’s services carried out regular monitoring and inspection operations at approved slaughterhouses and butcheries to ensure that meat and offal complied with health standards.
