Cybersecurity on the Offensive: Interior Ministry Deploys Digital Shield with 33.6 Million Dirhams to Fortify 83 Prefectures and Central HQ Against Cyber Sharks.
The Interior Ministry has launched a solid call for tenders to strengthen the cyber guard of its central strongholds and 83 prefectures. On the agenda: high-tech armor for purchase, plug-and-play, plus a crash course for the troops. Total check: 33.6 million MAD (VAT included), divided into three explosive tranches.
First tranche (11.9 million MAD): Lock down digital arteries. Out with the patchwork network – in with a radical overhaul to bunker local data centers, connect them with armored links to the heart of power, and filter outbound traffic like a flood barrier. Providers will deploy sharpened firewalls to scan and block suspicious traffic across the 83 sites, plus eight Rabat extensions. Bonus: an SD-WAN brain to streamline flows, boost speed, and cut bills. Custom adjustments, live testing, bootcamp for eight code guardians, and armored user manuals. The deadline is set at seven months, with a seasoned project manager and two specialist reinforcements.
Second tranche (14.4 million MAD), the heaviest: Hunt vulnerabilities and armor the machines. Vulnerability radar to scan 900 machines and servers, next-gen antivirus for 12,000 frontline terminals, and ICAP filter to disinfect trapped web uploads. Testing, bootcamp for 11 soldiers (solo mastery guaranteed), all on-premise, zero suspicious cloud. Four months to wrap up, led by a project manager and three sharp experts.
Third tranche (7.3 million MAD): Bunker the email. Turbo gateway to filter 200,000 emails per day across 2,000 accounts, coupled with an Exchange antivirus for 3,000 users. Bootcamp for five, testing and switch blueprints included. Five months on the clock, under the guidance of a project manager and two keyboard aces.
Brand-new gear, lifetime licenses, all up to anti-piracy standards. A cyber-fortified country? A concrete step toward a Morocco more resilient against cyberthreats.
As a reminder, bids will be opened on Monday, November 17 at 10:00 a.m. sharp, at the headquarters of the Procurement Division (Rabat). At the helm: the Governor, Director of Administrative Affairs, who is leading this digital security operation.
