CAF 2025: HM the King Expresses Gratitude to All Components of the Nation for Contributing to the Event’s Success
“His Majesty the King particularly wishes to congratulate all citizens, across the different cities of the Kingdom, for their efforts and to thank each one for their fine contribution to this historic success, recognized and praised throughout the world,” reads a statement issued by the Royal Cabinet.
Here is the communiqué from the Royal Cabinet:
“Following the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, hosted with fervor by the Kingdom of Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, wishes to express His thanks to all components of the Nation that admirably contributed to the full success of this magnificent event.
His Majesty the King particularly wishes to congratulate all citizens, across the different cities of the Kingdom, for their efforts and to thank each one for their fine contribution to this historic success, recognized and praised throughout the world.
The Sovereign extends His compliments to the millions of Moroccans, women, men, and children, who ceaselessly supported, each in their own way and always in an exemplary manner, their national team, now ranked the 8th best national selection in the world. A remarkable result stemming notably from a proactive and high-level sports and infrastructure policy, as well as from the patriotic choice made by the talented children of Moroccans of the World to wear the jersey of the national team and defend its colors with pride and brilliance.
This edition of the continental competition will be remembered, for beyond its excellent sporting results, it will have allowed for the measurement of the qualitative leap that the Kingdom has achieved on the path of development and progress, the fruit of a long-term vision and a unique and effective Moroccan model that places the citizen at the center of all ambitions.
Furthermore, and even if this great continental football celebration hosted by the Kingdom seems to have been sadly marred by the unfortunate episode of the final minutes of the match that opposed the national selections of Morocco and Senegal, during which regrettable incidents and deeply deplorable actions occurred, it nonetheless remains that once the passion has subsided, inter-African fraternity will naturally regain the upper hand, for this Moroccan success is also an African success. Morocco remains proud to have offered, on its soil, a month of popular joy and sporting emotion, and to have contributed to the radiance of Africa and its football.
Moreover, in the face of denigration and certain attempts at discredit endured, His Majesty the King, may God assist Him, remains convinced that hostile designs will never achieve their ends, that the Moroccan people know how to distinguish things, and that they will not be led into bitterness and discord. Nothing could alter the closeness cultivated over the centuries between our African peoples, nor the fruitful cooperation built with the different countries of the Continent and strengthened by ever more ambitious partnerships.
The Kingdom of Morocco is and will remain a great African country, faithful to the spirit of fraternity, solidarity, and respect that it has always cultivated towards its Continent. In accordance with the enlightened Vision of the Sovereign, Morocco will continue its determined and constant commitment in favor of a united and prosperous Africa, notably through the mutual sharing of its experiences, expertise, and know-how.”
