Business creation: Nearly 17,000 by the end of February
Newly created companies are mainly active in the trade sector, which accounts for 28.4%, followed by construction and real estate activities (25%), various services (19%), transport (7.8%) and industry (6.7%).
The number of businesses created in Morocco reached 16,985 entities during the first two months of 2026, according to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).
These businesses are divided between legal entities (75%) and sole proprietorships (25%), OMPIC stated in a press release.
With regard to legal forms, the Single‑Member Limited Liability Company (SARL AU) remains the structure most widely adopted by creators of corporate businesses, accounting for 66.4% of registrations, the same source specifies. It is followed by the Limited Liability Company (SARL), which represents 32.7%.
From a territorial perspective, the Casablanca–Settat region ranks first, concentrating 39.7% of newly created corporate businesses.
It is followed by the regions of Rabat–Salé–Kénitra (14%), Marrakech–Safi (12.7%) and Tangier–Tetouan–Al Hoceima (10.4%).
Taken together, these four regions account for 77% of all corporate business creations recorded in the commercial register nationwide.
In terms of sectors of activity, newly created corporate businesses operate mainly in trade, with a share of 28.4%, followed by construction and real estate activities (25%), various services (19%), transport (7.8%) and industry (6.7%).
As for sole proprietorships, the Tangier–Tetouan–Al Hoceima region ranks first with 20.7% of registrations, followed by Casablanca–Settat (13.4%), the Oriental region (10.5%), Rabat–Salé–Kénitra (10.3%), and Fès–Meknès (10.1%).
In addition, 23,652 trade names were issued during the period from January to February 2026.
