Aviculture: FISA Warns of Structural Imbalance in the Sector
The Poultry Sector Interprofessional Federation (FISA) warns of a situation described as “particularly concerning” in the broiler chick and white meat sector, characterized by overproduction, a collapse in farmgate prices, financial losses for farmers, and persistent dysfunctions in the marketing channels, despite sustained demand in the national market.

A sharp rise in production in 2025, with an 11% increase for chicks and a 14% increase for white meat, has caused significant overproduction.
Farmgate prices have collapsed, with chicks falling to about 0.5 dirhams per unit and live chickens between 9 and 12 dirhams per kilo, causing heavy losses for farmers.
Despite this drop, consumers are not benefiting from lower prices, due to dysfunctions in marketing and the proliferation of intermediaries.
A recent shortage of livestock feed has also worsened the situation. The Federation calls for urgent measures to regulate the market and reorganize the sector.
