Access to Healthcare: 49 New Health Centers Launched in 9 Regions
These centers will provide a comprehensive package of care, including general medical consultations, nursing care, monitoring of chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as maternal, child, and school health services.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection announces the launch of 49 new urban and rural health centers this Friday, October 24th, across nine regions of the Kingdom.
These include the Souss-Massa region, which will benefit from the services of seven new health centers distributed among Taroudant (5), Tiznit (1), and Agadir Ida Outanane (1). In the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, the healthcare offering has been strengthened with the opening of 2 health centers in Rabat.
In the Drâa-Tafilalet region, two health centers in Tinghir have opened their doors to the public. Meanwhile, in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, a dispensary in Laâyoune has become operational.
In the Marrakech-Safi region, the population now benefits from the services of eleven urban and rural health centers, distributed among Marrakech, Essaouira, and Al-Haouz. As for the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, it will benefit from 5 health centers, distributed among Khénifra (3), Béni Mellal (1), and Khouribga (1).
At the level of the Casablanca-Settat region, eight health facilities have been launched for the benefit of local populations, distributed among Nouaceur (6), Mohammedia (1), and Settat (1). In the Oriental region, 10 centers have opened their doors in Nador (8), Driouch (1), and Figuig-Bouarfa (1). Lastly, the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma region has seen its healthcare offering reinforced by the opening of 4 centers, distributed among Al-Hoceïma (3) and Tanger-Assilah (1).
According to the department of Amine Tehraoui, the launch of services in these new facilities is part of the ongoing government program to rehabilitate primary healthcare establishments. This initiative involves the reconstruction, modernization, and equipping of 1,400 health centers throughout all provinces of the Kingdom. It is also part of the national strategy aimed at reducing regional disparities in access to health services.
Meeting the Growing Demand for Healthcare
“These new-generation primary healthcare facilities are intended to strengthen the healthcare offering in the provinces of 9 regions, bring basic health services closer to the beneficiary populations, and meet the growing demand for care, all while improving the quality, accessibility, and conditions for patient reception and guidance,” indicates the ministry.
To support the implementation of healthcare services in the concerned regions and to guarantee the effective launch of these centers, a professional team of approximately 230 health professionals, including doctors, nurses, and technicians, has been mobilized to provide quality services for the benefit of the population.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection emphasizes that it has equipped these facilities with modern, high-performance medical equipment, while also mobilizing the necessary human resources to ensure the medical and paramedical care of the beneficiary populations.
