With his centre-right Tisza party securing a two-thirds supermajority in parliament, Magyar plans to implement anti-corruption measures, restore judicial independence, and ensure media freedom to unlock €17 billion in EU funds. He seeks to hold accountable those responsible for Hungary’s economic and political decline under Orbán, who has been criticized for undermining democratic institutions and rule of law during his 16-year tenure. Magyar’s administration will propose constitutional amendments limiting prime ministerial terms to eight years, effectively barring Orbán from future candidacy.
