Atlantic Dredging Maroc secures a new major contract in the port sector. The Moroccan subsidiary of the Greek group of the same name has won the contract for maintenance dredging works at 35 ports across the Kingdom, for an amount ranging between 43.9 and 87.9 million dirhams (MAD).
The ports concerned are Saidia, Ras Kebdana, Nador, Al Hoceima, Cala Iris, Tangier, Ksar Sghir, Mdiq, Marina Smir, Kabila, Jebha, Chmaala, Assilah, Larache, Mehdia/Kenitra, Skhirate, Sable d’Or, Mohammedia and Casablanca, El Jadida, Jorf Lasfar, Safi, the New Port of Safi, Essaouira, Essaouiria Lakdima, Agadir, Immesouane, Sidi Ifni, Tan Tan, Tarfaya, Laayoune, Boujdour, Dakhla (old and new ports), and Lamhiriz.
The duration of the works is set at one year, renewable without exceeding three years. Through this contract, the National Ports Agency (ANP) aims to preserve the depths required to ensure safe navigation in port channels and basins.
The services include the extraction, transport, and disposal of materials accumulated on port seabeds (silt, gravel, artificial waste, or various debris) using specialised equipment such as bucket dredgers or grab dredgers. The works also include connection to natural seabeds and the disposal of dredged materials in designated offshore areas, in accordance with strict technical and environmental requirements.
By way of reminder, Atlantic Dredging Maroc, active in the Kingdom since 2010 and the main challenger to Somagec in the dredging sector, had already secured, in early February 2025, the contract for dredging works at around twenty ports for an amount ranging between 25 and 47 million dirhams (MAD).
