Morocco showcases its expertise at the 1st International Transport and Logistics Forum in Saint Petersburg
Abdelssamad Kayouh highlighted Morocco’s experience in maritime transport and port infrastructure, recalling that the Kingdom operates high-performing ports while continuing the implementation of large-scale, structuring projects, notably the Nador West Med and Dakhla Atlantique ports.
The Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdelssamad Kayouh, stated on Wednesday in Saint Petersburg that Morocco has proven expertise in the fields of transport and logistics, highlighting the Kingdom’s strengths during his participation in the first edition of the International Transport and Logistics Forum.
The Kingdom is represented at this major event by Kayouh, who is leading a significant delegation that includes several ministry officials, as well as Morocco’s ambassador to Moscow, Lotfi Bouchaara.
In a statement to MAP on this occasion, the minister said he was “very pleased” to lead this delegation, emphasizing that this participation reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening its international partnerships in this strategic sector.
Kayouh highlighted Morocco’s experience in maritime transport and port infrastructure, recalling that the Kingdom operates high-performing ports while continuing to carry out large-scale, structuring projects, notably the Nador West Med and Dakhla Atlantique ports, which are expected to come into service in the coming years.
In the field of air transport, the minister noted the existence of regular connections between Casablanca and Moscow, operated by Royal Air Maroc, as well as the recent launch of a new route linking Casablanca to Saint Petersburg with three flights per week.
This new service is set to be further strengthened, he added, particularly through the use of larger-capacity aircraft, in order to boost tourist flows and business exchanges, and to consolidate connectivity between Morocco and Russia.
Furthermore, the minister stressed that Morocco’s experience in railway transport was also highlighted during this forum, showcasing the progress made by the Kingdom in this sector.
Kayouh also noted that Morocco’s participation in this international event represents an opportunity to “benefit from” the experiences of other countries, both in logistics and in railway transport.
Held in Saint Petersburg until April 3, the International Transport and Logistics Forum brings together government officials, experts, and industry operators from around sixty countries to discuss issues related to infrastructure development.
