Tourism: 894,000 Direct Jobs in 2025, Targets Exceeded
A total of 92,000 jobs have been created over the past three years in the tourism sector, while the roadmap had projected 80,000 additional positions by 2026.
Morocco’s tourism sector is confirming its growth momentum, with 894,000 direct jobs in 2025, a level that already exceeds the target set in the 2023–2026 roadmap, which had planned for the creation of 80,000 additional jobs by 2026, the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy announced.
According to the latest data from the High Commission for Planning (HCP), Morocco’s tourism sector generated 894,000 direct jobs in 2025, meaning 92,000 jobs were created over three years, thus surpassing the 80,000 target set for 2026, the ministry stated in a press release.
This performance is part of an across-the-board positive picture: tourist arrivals reached nearly 20 million visitors in 2025, while the roadmap’s target was 17.5 million for 2026, the same source noted.
Travel revenues, for their part, amounted to 138 billion dirhams (MAD), which is 18 billion dirhams more than the target set for 2026.
On this occasion, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, stated that “the ultimate goal of all the actions undertaken within the framework of the 2023–2026 roadmap is to have a concrete impact on citizens.”
“These figures confirm the relevance of the strategy adopted and the role of tourism as a driver of growth and the creation of opportunities,” Ammor added.
