Souss-Massa: A Region Raising Its Economic Ambition to New Heights

Today, driven by the commitment of the Souss-Massa Regional Investment Center (CRI), this ambition is materializing through enhanced support for SMEs and project leaders. By fostering an environment conducive to investment, the region is solidifying its economic positioning at both national and international levels.
An Ecosystem Designed for Entrepreneurs and Investors
Souss-Massa stands out for its proactive and structured vision of entrepreneurship. By developing a framework favorable to business creation and growth, the region has established itself as a land of opportunity where synergies and partnerships drive virtuous growth.
In this context, the Souss-Massa CRI plays a pivotal role by providing tailored guidance and support to project leaders and entrepreneurs throughout their endeavors. This includes assistance in business plan development, business model structuring, access to financing, and company formation. This structured approach ensures personalized support for entrepreneurs and a secure, incentive-driven environment for investors. As a result, the strengthening of the entrepreneurial landscape attracts major investments, which in turn energize the entire regional ecosystem.
ABRID: A Flagship Program for Regional Entrepreneurship
Among the major initiatives driving this momentum, the integrated ABRID support program holds central importance. Designed in partnership with the Regional Authority, the Regional Council, and the CGEM Souss-Massa, this program is funded by the region with a budget of 35 million dirhams over five years, including 7 million dirhams allocated for the first year. Implemented by the CRI through continuous collaboration with partners, ABRID ensures its success and the achievement of its objectives.
A source of regional pride and a pioneering initiative, ABRID is structured around three pillars addressing the diverse needs of local entrepreneurs while supporting businesses at every stage of their lifecycle:
- ABRID Animation: Inspire and engage future entrepreneurs through competitions, regional outreach campaigns, and immersive events for startups and freelancers. The launch of this pillar saw resounding success, with initial actions covering the entire region.
- ABRID Incubation: Guide project leaders with personalized coaching, including training, mentorship, workspace access, and funding opportunities.
- ABRID Acceleration: Equip startups and SMEs with the tools to structure their growth and enhance their market competitiveness.
- The ABRID initiative embodies Souss-Massa’s ambition to build a balanced and sustainable economic model, where every entrepreneur or innovator finds their place and benefits from tailored support.
Enhanced Support for SMEs Through the Investment Charter
Under the new Investment Charter, a second national program aimed at supporting SMEs is set to be adopted shortly. Targeting businesses with annual revenues between 1 and 200 million dirhams and investments ranging from 1 to 50 million dirhams, this program aims to strengthen access to investment and accelerate SME development. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies, it will bolster entrepreneurial momentum and economic attractiveness across the nation, including in the Souss-Massa region.
