RNI: The Political Bureau Announces the Candidacy of Mohamed Chouki
Following the end of the application period for the party’s presidency, and in accordance with its statutes and internal regulations, The Political Bureau of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) received the candidacy of Mohamed Chouki. After review, it decided to submit it to the extraordinary national congress scheduled for February 7 in El Jadida.
Presided over by Aziz Akhannouch, the Political Bureau of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) held a meeting this Wednesday, January 28, dedicated to examining several current issues, the national political, social, and economic situation, as well as the internal organizational aspects of the party.
The Political Bureau expressed its great pride in the remarkable success achieved by Morocco in organizing the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament, described as a landmark stage in the history of continental competitions, given the high level of organization, the quality of infrastructure, the smoothness of travel, the effectiveness of security arrangements, and the strong public attendance.
In this regard, the Political Bureau commended the wisdom and foresight that characterized the recent royal cabinet communiqué in the face of attempts at disruption and attacks on the Kingdom’s credibility. Furthermore, it highlighted His Majesty the King’s attachment to African fraternal ties and his constant commitment to a united and prosperous Africa, based on cooperation, solidarity, and the sharing of expertise, serving the interests of the continent’s peoples and strengthening its international standing.
On the governmental front, the Political Bureau emphasized the considerable work accomplished in implementing the 2025 Finance Law, which it considers a concrete illustration of the relevance of the economic and financial choices adopted. These measures have injected positive momentum into the national economy, visible notably in the improvement of growth indicators, the strengthening of foreign exchange reserves, and the significant increase in tax revenues, thereby making it possible to meet social commitments and support citizens’ purchasing power.
In the same vein, the members of the Political Bureau expressed their satisfaction with the government’s action and their support for all its programs. They commended the efforts made in managing public finances, controlling the budget deficit, and reducing debt, measures deemed likely to strengthen confidence in the national economy, consolidate its solidity and attractiveness, and confirm the effectiveness of government policies in a demanding international context.
Furthermore, the Political Bureau took note of a presentation given by Rachid Talbi Alami, president of the preparatory commission for the extraordinary national congress. He provided a detailed report on the commission’s work, characterized by strong involvement, broad mobilization, and a serious and responsible work ethic, while taking stock of the progress in the congress preparations to ensure its smooth running.
