Green light for the creation of the Defense Industrial Zones Management Company
The government has authorized the Military Housing and Equipment Agency (ALEM) and the company MEDZ to create a joint venture dedicated to managing industrial zones specialized in the defense sector.
A decree authorizing the Military Housing and Equipment Agency (ALEM) and MEDZ, a subsidiary of the Deposit and Management Fund (CDG), to create a joint company named “Defense Industrial Zones Management Company” was published in the Official Bulletin on June 9.
This company, with an initial capital of 300,000 dirhams, is tasked with designing, developing, marketing, and managing industrial zones specifically dedicated to activities related to the defense industry.
This project is part of the implementation of the High Royal Directives aimed at creating two industrial zones dedicated to defense industries, the document recalls.
It also follows the signing, on November 8, 2023, of a strategic agreement between the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the National Defense Administration, the CDG, and ALEM, in accordance with Law No. 10.20 relating to defense and security equipment and materials.
The implementation of this initiative is placed under the supervision of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, who will ensure its effective application and the sustainability of the chosen economic model.
