Tourism: 8.9 Million Arrivals in the First Half of the Year
Morocco Welcomed 8.9 Million Tourists in the First Half of 2025, Marking a 19% Increase Compared to the Same Period in 2024 (1.4 Million Additional Tourists), According to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.
This highly promising first half continues the upward trend and solidifies the Kingdom’s position as a premier destination, offering encouraging prospects for the remainder of 2025, the ministry stated in a press release.
June contributed to this momentum with 1.7 million arrivals, an 11% increase compared to 2024, marking the best June on record to date, the release specified.
The statement also notes that this positive start to the summer season is expected to reinforce the observed growth, especially as the summer period traditionally represents a peak activity time for Morocco’s tourism sector.
“These results confirm Morocco’s appeal and our ability to attract a growing number of tourists,” stated Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, as quoted in the release.
“We are entering the second half of the year with two priority projects: strengthening air travel infrastructure and accelerating the development of accommodation and entertainment offerings to meet the needs of an increasingly demanding clientele,” the minister added.
