Technopark Morocco and Plug and Play Tech Center, a major global innovation player based in Silicon Valley, have just officially launched an acceleration program for innovative start-ups, with the strategic support of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform (MTNRA) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The goal? To bring forth a new generation of “made in Morocco” technology champions, capable of playing in the big leagues on a global scale. This program is part of the Morocco Digital 2030 strategy, which bets on innovation to accelerate the Kingdom’s digital transformation and strengthen its technological sovereignty.

This collaboration illustrates the Kingdom’s desire to make innovation a driver of growth, technological sovereignty, and openness. “By partnering with a reference player like Plug and Play, we create concrete opportunities for Moroccan start-ups to shine internationally and to engage in global competitiveness dynamics,” emphasizes Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Delegate Minister in charge of Digital Transition. The alliance with Plug and Play, known for having supported the early days of Google, Dropbox, or PayPal, opens up concrete internationalization prospects for local start-ups.

A program tailored for performance

On the agenda: strategic mentoring, technological expertise, customized support, access to targeted financing, and integration into international innovation networks. With more than 60 offices worldwide and a network of 550 corporate partners, Plug and Play offers a launchpad to global value chains, while positioning Morocco as a leading regional technology hub.

For Lamiae Benmakhlouf, General Manager of Technopark Morocco, “this partnership represents a new key step to connect the Moroccan ecosystem internationally. This synergy will provide young start-ups with the levers necessary to accelerate their growth and access new markets.”

Beyond a simple acceleration program, this partnership aims to be a catalyst for a more open, more connected, and more competitive ecosystem. It aspires to make start-ups the true drivers of technological development anchored in local territories but resolutely oriented towards the world.

“Convinced of Moroccan potential, we want to co-build an ecosystem where local innovation shines far beyond borders,” also added Aziz El Hachem, Co-Director Africa at Plug and Play.

This structuring partnership confirms the Kingdom’s determination to firmly anchor its entrepreneurial ecosystem in the major dynamics of global innovation. By placing start-ups at the heart of value creation, it offers a springboard to the new generation of Moroccan techs dreaming of a global destiny.
