Moroccan Referees Selected for CAN 2025: Five Officials Chosen
Jalal Jayed and Mustapha Kech Chaf as center referees, Zakaria Brinsi and Mostafa Akarkad as assistants, and Hamza El Fariq as VAR referee.
CAF has unveiled the list of referees selected for AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
Five Moroccans are included: Jalal Jayed and Mustapha Kech Chaf as center referees, Zakaria Brinsi and Mostafa Akarkad as assistants, and Hamza El Fariq as VAR referee.
A total of 73 experienced officials have been selected for this edition, scheduled from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. They come from all regions of Africa and have previously officiated in several major competitions.
All will arrive in Morocco on December 15, 2025, for an intensive preparatory training camp. This program will include physical, technical, and theoretical evaluations.
This selection confirms CAF’s commitment to refereeing excellence, match integrity, and the improvement of African football standards.
