Design of the Nador Stadium: Architect Noureddine El Kenfaoui at the Helm
The project lead, who designed the Al Hoceima stadium, outperformed twelve other candidates, including several well-known names in the sector. Details follow.
The construction of the future football stadium in Nador has reached a new milestone. Architect Noureddine El Kenfaoui has just been selected by Al Omrane Oriental Region to handle the design and construction supervision of this sports facility, which has a total budget of 358 million dirhams (MAD 358 million).
With a fee rate of 5%, the project architect—who designed the Al Hoceima stadium together with Saloua Ater—will receive MAD 17.9 million. He ranked ahead of twelve other candidates, including several well-known names in the sector, such as architect Amine Hjiaj (Pictogramme), Wadie Bennani (Plume Concept), as well as the consortium formed by Rachid Benbrahim El Andaloussi and Walid Nokta.
Bidders were required to propose a high-level architectural design, combining functionality, aesthetic quality, and the promotion of sporting activities at both the national and international levels.
With a minimum capacity of 20,000 seats, the stadium will be built on an 18.5-hectare site located in the municipality of Nador. It will feature a natural grass playing field, fully covered stands, facilities beneath the stands, a large forecourt, and external landscaping, as well as access routes and connections to the surrounding urban fabric.
The works will cover structural construction, fixed equipment and installations, ground adaptations, and external development works. As a strategic public facility, the future stadium will be required to integrate harmoniously into its urban environment through a carefully designed architectural envelope and exterior spaces.
