Sonarges: Head of Government Chairs a Meeting to Present the Strategic Plan
On this occasion, Aziz Akhannouch recalled the High Royal Solicitude with which His Majesty King Mohammed VI surrounds the sports sector, through the mobilization of the necessary resources for the construction of infrastructure and the provision of sports facilities in the various regions of the Kingdom.
The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, chaired, on Wednesday, December 17 in Rabat, and in the presence of the Minister of National Education, Preschool Education and Sports, Saad Berrada, a working meeting during which the strategic plan of the National Company for the Construction and Management of Sports Facilities (Sonarges) was presented, and progress on the structuring projects led by the company within the framework of upgrading national sports infrastructure was reviewed.
According to a statement from the Head of Government’s Office, at the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Management Board of Sonarges, Youssef Belqasmi, presented the company’s strategic plan, which is based on building on achievements and enhancing human capital, while strengthening territorial presence across the various regions of the Kingdom through the development of new offerings serving the population.
According to the same source, the official highlighted the progress achieved in upgrading stadiums in preparation for hosting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup, emphasizing the governance model adopted as well as the technical, administrative, and financial monitoring mechanisms put in place to ensure the optimal implementation of these projects.
He also stressed the importance of ongoing coordination between Sonarges, all relevant ministerial departments, and institutional and sports partners.
It should be noted that on this occasion, the Head of Government recalled the High Royal Solicitude with which His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, surrounds the sports sector, through the mobilization of the necessary means for the construction of infrastructure and the establishment of sports facilities in the various regions of the Kingdom.
He called for accelerating Sonarges’ momentum of action through the implementation of this strategic plan, in order to provide new impetus capable of strengthening national sports infrastructure and making it a contributing factor to the creation of integrated territorial development.
By way of reminder, Sonarges, established in 2008, manages more than 78 sports facilities across six regions of the Kingdom.
