Exports: The automobile sector achieves turnover of more than 58 billion MAD in 4 months
The performance is explained mainly by the strong growth in automobile manufacturing activities, whose exports surged by 33.5%.
Moroccan exports continued their progress during the first four months of 2026. According to the latest data from the Office des Changes, foreign sales from the automobile sector reached more than 58.28 billion dirhams by the end of April, representing an increase of 18.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.
This performance is explained mainly by the strong growth in automobile manufacturing activities, whose exports surged by 33.5% to reach 23.88 billion dirhams. The wiring segment also contributed to this dynamic, recording a progression of 16.1% to 22.09 billion dirhams.
The aeronautics sector also shows a favorable evolution. Its exports amounted to 11.03 billion dirhams, up 15.9%, thanks notably to the progression of assembly activities (+20.7%) and the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) segment, whose sales increased by 6.9%.
Conversely, several sectors saw their exports decline during this period. This is the case of textiles and leather, whose international sales decreased by 6.7%, as well as electronics and electricity (-3.5%) and phosphates and derivatives (-1.5%).
The agriculture and agri-food sector, for its part, returned to growth, recording a slight increase of 0.8% after a less favorable previous period.
In total, Moroccan exports reached 168.85 billion dirhams by the end of April 2026, up 8.7% year over year, confirming the resilience of national foreign trade despite contrasting performances across sectors.
