Ouahbi emphasises player integration into his tactical project

During the press conference presenting the final squad, Ouahbi stated that the technical staff prioritised players capable of quickly integrating into the team’s playing system while meeting the physical and tactical demands of top-level football.

“We have done nothing randomly. We looked for specific profiles,” he stressed, explaining that the goal was “to observe different players in order to broaden our tactical options and human choices.”

Ouahbi also noted that some players needed to regain match fitness after a period of inactivity, adding that it was essential to provide them with a competitive environment to maintain their performance levels during the training camp held from 22 to 26 May.

The national coach further highlighted the need to assess the depth of the Moroccan squad, in a context marked by strong competition between players, noting that several players monitored by the technical staff could still join the group in the future.

According to Ouahbi, the decisions made during this training camp are part of a medium- and long-term vision aimed at building a broader and competitive squad for upcoming international competitions.
