Aviation: ONMT and Delta Air Lines launch a direct Atlanta-Marrakech flight
This flight is the second direct connection established between the United States and Morocco within two years. It reflects the desire to facilitate access to the Kingdom and strengthen its attractiveness in the North American market. Scheduled to start in October 2025, the Atlanta-Marrakech route will be operated using a Boeing 767-400 with 238 seats, at a frequency of three flights per week.

Morocco is taking a significant step in enhancing its connectivity with the United States through the launch of a direct airline route by Delta Air Lines connecting Atlanta to Marrakech. The strategic agreement between ONMT and Delta Air Lines for the launch of the Marrakech-Atlanta route will attract a significant flow of travelers to Morocco, contributing to tourism growth and exchange development with the U.S.
This new direct route represents a major advancement, as Atlanta is the world’s largest hub and a strategic gateway to the entire American territory, serving 125 U.S. cities. Delta Air Lines, being the oldest active U.S. airline and one of the most popular globally, announces this in a statement from ONMT.
It is the first point-to-point connection for the American airline Delta Air Lines to Morocco and more broadly North Africa. This new flight is the result of the in-depth commercial and promotional work carried out by the delegation of the Moroccan National Tourist Office in New York, which tirelessly works to position Morocco as an indispensable destination in the North American market.
Thanks to this new air route, ONMT has successfully connected Marrakech to three major North American hubs: Montreal with Air Transat, New York with United Airlines, and Atlanta with Delta Air Lines. This new direct route also enriches the existing offer from the U.S. to Morocco, including the three lines operated by Royal Air Maroc from New York, Washington, and Miami to Casablanca.
Strengthening air links between the U.S. and Morocco will consolidate Morocco’s positioning as a destination in this market, which represents nearly 125 million travelers. Americans are very attached to national airlines, and their loyalty programs greatly influence the choice of destination.
Scheduled to start in October 2025, the Atlanta-Marrakech route will be operated using a Boeing 767-400 with 238 seats, at a frequency of three flights per week.
In 2024, 402,377 American tourists visited Morocco (a 7% increase from 2023), and just for January 2025, arrivals were 26,777 (a 31% increase from 2024). The long-term goal is to exceed one million American tourists.
The launch of this direct route is a key step in ONMT’s strategy to position “Morocco: Kingdom of Light” among the world’s major tourist destinations. With this clear and ambitious objective, the Office continues to weave a high-performance air network, making Morocco a global destination.
