Morocco and the United Kingdom signed, on Monday in Salé, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dedicated to British support for the organization of the 2030 World Cup.

Signed by the Minister Delegate for the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, and the British Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, David Lammy, this agreement marks a new step in the dynamic of bilateral cooperation in the fields of sport, infrastructure, and economic development.

Thus, it is part of the continuity of the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who has positioned sport as a lever for influence, openness, and sustainable development.

Through this Memorandum, the United Kingdom expresses its willingness to mobilize its technical expertise, its business ecosystem, and its support capacities to contribute to the success of this major project.

The two parties have agreed to collaborate closely on a set of projects, notably concerning stadiums, transport infrastructure, as well as services related to the management of international events.

This mutual commitment illustrates a shared ambition: to make the 2030 World Cup a sporting, logistical, and human success, carrying economic opportunities and sustainable partnerships, respecting the universal values of solidarity, excellence, and inclusion.

The signing ceremony took place at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé, in the presence of senior officials from both parties.
