The Moroccan Tourism Engineering Company (SMIT) has launched a call for tenders to assess the service quality of tourist accommodation establishments (EHT).

This study is part of the rollout of Morocco’s new classification system.

The estimated contract amount exceeds 51.7 million dirhams.

The assessment will be carried out through mystery visits conducted by a service provider and qualified visitors to verify compliance with quality standards.

The establishments concerned span categories from luxury down to 3-star and include hotels, club hotels, tourist residences, guesthouses, riads, and kasbahs.

The selected service provider will have to carry out two main tasks:

  • Conducting the mystery visits and producing detailed evaluation reports for each establishment.
  • Conducting an overall analysis of the results at the national level.

Bid opening is scheduled for 16 March, and the overall timeframe for executing the contract is set at 365 days.
