Fisheries Resources: More Than 2.36 Billion Dirhams Worth of Seafood Marketed

Coastal and artisanal fishing products exceeded 2.36 billion dirhams by the end of February 2026, up 3%, according to the National Fisheries Office.

However, the volume fell by 18% to stand at 55,153 tonnes. The value of cephalopods and seaweed increased by 8% and 3% respectively, while that of crustaceans remained stable.

Conversely, shellfish, pelagic fish, and white fish recorded notable declines.

In Mediterranean ports, landings reached 2,926 tonnes (-17%), for a value of more than 146 million dirhams (-25%).

On the Atlantic coast, volumes fell by 19% to 52,227 tonnes, while the value increased by 5% to 2.21 billion dirhams.
